About
Rjay is a Den Haag based artist with Surinamese roots whose sound pulls together rap, R&B and afro into something that feels both atmospheric and urgent. He sings as well as raps, and the blend carries a distinct urban energy rooted in the dancehall, hiphop and reggae he grew up around. In 2023 he won the Noahs Ark Demo Beoordeelspektakel, taking home the prize for best emerging artist of the year. Live, he brings a strong visual presence to go with the music, with a clear eye for fashion and performance that makes his shows feel like a full experience rather than just a set.
