About
Rolf Sanchez is a Dutch singer who carved out a lane for himself in Latin music, landing three number one singles on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart with tracks like "Por si no te vuelvo a ver", "Que se siente", and "Vas a entender". His real name is Roelof Wienk, but he swapped his Dutch surname for Sanchez, his mother's Dominican name, partly to make it easier for Spanish speakers and partly as a nod to his heritage. He got his start on the Dutch X Factor in 2011, finished third, and still walked away with a record deal. Back home in the Netherlands, he is probably best known for "Más más más", which hit number one in the Dutch Top 40 in 2020, and the duet "Pa' olvidarte" with Emma Heesters, which peaked at number two. His debut album Mi viaje followed in 2022, spending three consecutive weeks at number two and eventually going platinum. He has also branched out into acting and television, playing a role in the film Verliefd op Cuba and appearing as a jury member on the SBS6 show Ministars.
