About
Also known as: Rinnie Tober, Ronald Edwin Tober, Ronny Tober
Ronnie Tober is a Dutch singer who made history representing the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968, performing the song "Morgen" in London. His career actually took shape in the United States first, where he appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and performed alongside Perry Como, before returning to the Netherlands in the early 1960s after a well received TV appearance convinced him to stay. Back home, he built a long television career working with broadcasters AVRO and KRO, hosting shows that featured guests like Vikki Carr and Roger Whittaker. Beyond performing, he founded the Ronnie Tober Foundation in 2002, which uses music and culture to support people with developmental disabilities. Queen Beatrix recognised his four decades in show business by knighting him in the Order of Orange Nassau in 2003, and his name is inscribed on the Wall of Fame in Amsterdam's Zuiderkerk.
