About
Samia first caught attention with her 2017 single "Someone Tell The Boys", which found its way onto Spotify's Discover Weekly and took off from there. Her debut album The Baby, released in 2020, opens with the last voicemail her grandmother left before she died, where she can be heard singing a Lebanese lullaby. That kind of emotional specificity is what sets Samia apart: she draws from indie rock, indie pop and lo fi sounds, with influences ranging from Liz Phair and Elliott Smith to Lana Del Rey and Angel Olsen. Her second album Honey arrived in 2023, and she described its push and pull between sad and happy songs by saying "Optimism is the saddest thing in the world to me and I have a lot of it." Her third album Bloodless followed in April 2025, and her NPR Tiny Desk performance of "Pool" went viral on social media, sparking hundreds of thousands of TikTok videos using the audio.
