About
Also known as: Sander van Dijck
San Holo, the stage name of Dutch producer Sander van Dijck from Zoetermeer, built his international following on a remix of Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode" that racked up over 272 million YouTube views. His sound sits somewhere between future bass, electronic, and trap, with a melodic sensibility and live guitar work that sets him apart from the average EDM producer. He founded his own label, Bitbird, which became the home for some of his biggest records, including "Light", a track that spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic chart and crossed 100 million Spotify streams. His debut album, Album1, dropped in 2018 and debuted at number 7 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. A second album, BB U OK?, followed in 2021, and in 2023 he released his third studio album, Existential Dance Music. Along the way he also won a legal battle with Walt Disney Pictures, who tried to force him to drop the San Holo name over its similarity to Han Solo.
