Seven Lions, the project of Santa Barbara producer Jeff Montalvo, blends trance, melodic dubstep, drum and bass, glitch hop, and electro house into something that refuses easy categorisation. His 2012 EP Days to Come, released on Skrillex's Owsla label, cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart and landed at number one on Beatport's top albums of the week. The following EP Worlds Apart pushed even further, charting on the Billboard 200, and the track "Don't Leave" with Ellie Goulding crossed into the UK Singles Chart in 2014. In 2018 Montalvo launched Ophelia Records, his own independent label focused on dubstep, psytrance, drum and bass, and melodic bass. The label has become a real home base for his recent output, including collaborations with SLANDER, Dabin, Excision, and Wooli. His sets pull from an unusually wide palette, and that genre fluency is a big part of why he has held a spot at major festivals like Ultra, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Electric Zoo for well over a decade.
