About
Sherry Dyanne approaches music as a way of connecting, with herself, with life, and with the people in the room. Her work sits in the space between jazz and soul, drawing on the spirit of Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Etta James, and Melody Gardot. She performs both original songs and her own take on classics from those traditions, and her warm tone and finely tuned sense of timing are what listeners tend to remember most. Alongside covers and interpretations, Sherry writes her own material, always looking for the thread that ties people together. For her, a song has done its job when it leaves someone with a good feeling or a lasting memory.
