About
Bergen's Slomosa have carved out their own corner of heavy music with what they call "tundra rock", a self coined label that captures how their stoner and desert rock sound fits a Norwegian landscape better than the usual sun baked desert imagery. That concept became the title of their 2024 album on Stickman Records, which earned them the Best Rock Album prize at Spellemannprisen. Their debut, a self titled record on Apollon Records from 2020, laid the groundwork, and the current four piece lineup featuring Benjamin Berdous, Tor Erik Bye, Marie Moe, and Jard Hole has been the engine behind the band's rise. They have built a serious live reputation through extensive European touring, including runs alongside Stöner and Greenleaf, and a US tour with Helmet. Recent singles like "Red Thundra", "Battling Guns", "Rice", and "Cabin Fever" show the band keeping momentum between albums. Bass player Marie Moe is also known from the indie pop band Razika, giving the group an eclectic backstory that sits interestingly against their heavy, riff driven sound.
