About
Stand Atlantic have built their reputation on pop punk that pulls from mid 2000s roots while keeping things sharp and contemporary. The Sydney four piece, fronted by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bonnie Fraser, signed to Hopeless Records in 2018 and hit the ground running with their debut full length Skinny Dipping. Since then they have put out three more studio albums, with Pink Elephant debuting at number 23 on the ARIA Albums Chart and Was Here reaching number 12 on the UK Rock and Metal Chart in 2024. Their influences span Blink 182 and The Story So Far through to The 1975 and even Justin Bieber, which gives you a sense of how wide their sonic net is cast. Fraser's lyrics tend to go somewhere meaningful: "Molotov (OK)" was a direct response to homophobic rhetoric she heard at a Christian school assembly, and "kill[H]er" tackled self sabotage and the cost of burying who you actually are. Rock Sound called their EP Sidewinder "assured, accessible and properly brilliant", and the band have backed that up with every release since.
