Sub Focus, the stage name of Nick Douwma, has been one of the more versatile figures in UK drum and bass since his debut on RAM Records back in 2003. His self titled debut album arrived in 2009, and by the early 2010s he was racking up genuine UK chart hits: "Tidal Wave" featuring Alpines cracked the top 12, "Endorphins" with Alex Clare reached number 10, and his production of Example's "Kickstarts" peaked at number three, making it his biggest commercial success to date. He has also remixed artists ranging from The Prodigy and deadmau5 to Dizzee Rascal. His 2020 collaborative album Portals, made with fellow producer Wilkinson and released through Casablanca Records, showed a more expansive side to his sound. Then in 2023 he dropped his fourth solo album Evolve, a 14 tracker that took home Best Album at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards. More recently he released "Fine Day" in 2023, suggesting he has no intention of slowing down.
