About

Also known as: 10 Years After, Alvin Lee & Ten Years After, Alvin Lee & Ten Years Later

Ten Years After built their reputation on muscular blues rock and a live energy that could blow the roof off any venue. Guitarist and vocalist Alvin Lee was the centrepiece, and his blistering performance of 'I'm Going Home' at Woodstock in 1969 turned the band into a household name almost overnight. Between 1968 and 1973, eight of their albums cracked the UK top 40 and twelve charted in the US Billboard 200, a run that few British blues acts could match. Their 1972 album A Space in Time marked a shift toward a more commercial sound, and it gave them 'I'd Love to Change the World', the track most people still know them by. After splitting in 1973 and reuniting a handful of times, the band carried on even after Lee's death in 2013, with Marcus Bonfanti stepping in on guitar and vocals. Their 2017 album A Sting in the Tale marked 50 years since their debut and showed the band still had plenty to say.
