The Callous Daoboys have a name that sounds like a Dallas Cowboys joke, and that playful irreverence carries into their music too. The Atlanta mathcore outfit blends jagged, technically demanding riffs with emo textures, and they're quick to claim nu metal as a reference point, citing The Dillinger Escape Plan, Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park and System of a Down in the same breath. Their 2022 album Celebrity Therapist, released through MNRK Music Group, pushed them further into the spotlight. Their third album I Don't Want to See You in Heaven, recorded with Gatherers drummer Adam Cichocki, came out in May 2025. The band's lineup notably includes a violinist alongside two guitarists and a vocalist who also plays keys, which gives their dense, chaotic sound some genuinely unexpected colour.
