About
The Chris Rea Experience is a tribute project built around Paul Casey, a former protégé and band member of British blues rock guitarist and singer Chris Rea. Casey leads an all star lineup that includes bassist Eoghan O'Neill, who played on many of Rea's original hit recordings. The set draws on beloved songs from Rea's catalogue, including Josephine, On The Beach, I Can Hear Your Heart Beat, The Road To Hell Pt. II, and Driving Home For Christmas. What sets this project apart from a standard tribute act is the direct connection to Rea himself. When illness prevented him from performing, Rea gave the project his personal blessing, and at some point described Casey as being like a younger brother to him. The band sits squarely in the soft rock, blues and pop rock territory that made Rea a household name.
