Also known as: Thomás Goethals
The Flexican is the stage name of Thomás Goethals, a Mexican born Dutch DJ whose name says it all: flexible in style and proudly Mexican in roots. That eclecticism paid off in a big way in 2013 when he teamed up with FS Green and Major Lazer on "Watch Out for This (Bumaye)", a moombahton track featuring Jamaican artist Busy Signal that started life as an instrumental rework of his own song "Bumaye" with Dutch rapper Typhoon. Diplo picked it up for the Major Lazer album Free The Universe, and the rest is history. Back home in the Netherlands, he is also a core member of Dutch rap group Flinke Namen, which he co founded in 2004 with rapper Sef and MC Fit. His 2008 mixtape Op Volle Toeren brought in guests like The Opposites and Dio, and his club night series Yours Truly at spots like Jimmy Woo and 013 Tilburg has become a reliable fixture, always with Sef by his side.
