Bokoesam has been a fixture in Dutch hip hop ever since his debut EP 'Nog Nooit Meegemaakt' landed in 2014. Tracks like 'No Go Zone', '50 Cent', 'Mijn Schuld', 'Net Iets Meer' and 'Go Go Club' have held up well, still getting regular play in clubs and at festivals years later. As part of the collective New Wave he picked up the Popprijs and two Edison Awards, and the group reunited for five sold out shows at the Ziggo Dome. Over time Bokoesam has stretched his sound in interesting directions. The EP 'Party Sam' brought a celebratory energy, while the gold certified album 'Nachtvlinder' pushed his Dutch language dancehall style further, a direction also heard on 'Go Go Club Vol. 1' and 'Doe Het Nou Gewoon'. He followed that up with 'Nachtvlinder 2', a more personal record about his experiences of recent years. Since 2022 he has performed with a full live band, weaving his dancehall, hip hop and afro influences together on stage.
