About

Also known as: The Oh Hello's

The Oh Hellos are a siblings duo, Tyler and Maggie Heath, from San Marcos, Texas, making folk rock with a Celtic tinge, a choir, and a string band that can swell to thirteen musicians on stage. That combination of soft melodies set against intense, literary lyrics is basically their signature: the tension between the two is what keeps their music so arresting. They broke through on Bandcamp and got a wider audience when their songs appeared on NBC's Parenthood, then later in the 2017 film Table 19. Their albums tend to work as concept records. Through the Deep, Dark Valley and Dear Wormwood, the latter inspired by C. S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters, both build full narrative arcs, weaving in Greek mythological, Biblical, and literary references throughout. They followed those with a four EP series named after the Greco Roman wind deities, the Anemoi, releasing Notos, Eurus, Boreas, and Zephyrus between 2017 and 2020. More recently they put out a new single called "December '04" and a second Family Christmas Album EP.
