Few songs have the sheer staying power of 'It's Raining Men', and The Weather Girls are the duo behind it. Originally formed in 1976 as Two Tons O' Fun, Martha Wash and Izora Armstead started out as backing singers for disco legend Sylvester, lending their voices to tracks like 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)'. They renamed themselves The Weather Girls in 1982, and the following year dropped that undeniable disco classic that still fills dance floors decades later. After the group disbanded in 1989, The Weather Girls came back in 1991 with a new lineup featuring Izora Armstead alongside her daughter Dynelle Rhodes. That version of the group built up a strong following especially in Germany. After Armstead passed away in 2004, the group carried on, eventually settling into the current lineup of Dorrey Lin Lyles and Dynelle Rhodes. They released the single 'We Need Love' in 2018 and popped up as guests with De Toppers in 2019.
