About
Signed to the legendary Daptone Records after just their second live show, Thee Sacred Souls had barely gotten started before the label came calling. The San Diego soul trio, made up of bassist Sal Samano, drummer Alex Garcia, and vocalist Josh Lane, draws from chicano soul, gospel, doo wop, and oldies to craft something that feels genuinely timeless. Their debut single "Can I Call You Rose?" was literally the first song they ever wrote together, which makes it all the more remarkable how fully formed it sounded. Their self titled debut album came out in 2022 on Daptone, recorded at the label's Penrose Studios in Riverside, California. They brought it to late night TV with a performance of "Easier Said Than Done" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, then spent the next year sharing stages with Portugal. The Man and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. A second album, Got a Story to Tell, followed in 2024, showing the trio has plenty more to say.
