About
Tribute To The Cats Band came together in Volendam in 2002 as a tribute to The Cats, the local group that helped define the sound later known as palingsound back in the 1960s. Rather than a one off event, the project grew into a full touring act, with nine musicians recreating the warm, harmony driven style that made The Cats so distinctive. Rich vocal harmonies are one of the band's most recognisable traits, letting them pull off the layered sound that classics like 'One Way Wind', 'Lea', 'Marian', 'Why' and 'Times Were When' demand. The original members of The Cats have followed the band's rise with genuine enthusiasm, which has led to guest appearances on stage that reportedly moved audiences and performers alike. Milestones include a sold out show at AFAS Live in March 2017, marking the band's fifteenth anniversary, and a twentieth anniversary concert on the Europaplein in Volendam in June 2022.
