About
Also known as: ヴァリー, 밸리
Valley came together in a pretty unlikely way: two Toronto bands accidentally got double booked at the same recording studio in 2014, and the collision stuck. The group, now a trio of Rob Laska, Alex Dimauro, and Karah James, makes indie pop and pop rock with a knack for balancing big, catchy hooks with something a little more emotionally honest. Their debut EP Car Test arrived in 2015, and they spent the next few years building toward their first full album, splitting the material across two EPs before releasing Maybe in 2019. They picked up Juno nominations for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2020 and Group of the Year in 2022, and their single "Homebody" got a nod for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize. In 2024, after guitarist Mickey Brandolino left to focus on music production, Valley came back as a three piece with Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden, produced by Chase Lawrence of COIN. That album landed a 2025 Juno nomination for Alternative Album of the Year.
