About
Warbuhl come out of Utrecht with a sound that refuses to sit still. Their music throws ska grooves, uptempo beats, Dutch rap and fragments of cryptic poetry into the same pot, and somehow it all adds up to something built for dancing. The vibe is chaotic in the best sense, held together by a clear instinct for what makes a crowd move. The act grew out of a comedy pop duo called Johan & Jeppe, which started as something of a running joke before winning the Kunstbende competition. That background gives Warbuhl their distinctly playful edge, though these days the music has grown well beyond the gag. Equal parts party and performance, they have built a reputation as one of the more energetic live acts on the Dutch circuit.
