Few bands captured the excess and swagger of late 1980s glam metal quite like Warrant. Formed in Hollywood in 1984, they broke through hard with their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, which went double platinum and launched the power ballad "Heaven" all the way to number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Their follow up, Cherry Pie, gave them one of the era's most recognisable party anthems and another double platinum record. At their peak they were touring alongside Poison, Mötley Crüe and Cinderella, with MTV keeping their big hair image in constant rotation. The grunge wave knocked them sideways in the mid 1990s, as it did most of their peers, and the band went through a long stretch of lineup shuffles and shifting directions. They lost their iconic frontman Jani Lane, who passed away in 2011, but Warrant never folded. With Robert Mason, formerly of Lynch Mob, now handling lead vocals, the band has kept recording and playing live well into the 2020s, racking up over 10 million album sales across their career.
