About
Sydney's Winston Surfshirt blur the lines between funk, hip hop, and neo soul in a way that feels effortless. The six piece formed in 2015 around lead vocalist and multi instrumentalist Winston, and their sound pulls from surf rock and West Coast hip hop in equal measure. They've shared stages at Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival, and toured in support of Rüfüs, building a devoted following well before their debut album Sponge Cake dropped in 2017. Their third album Panna Cotta, released in 2022, showed serious ambition, roping in Genesis Owusu, Talib Kweli, Kimbra, Devin the Dude, Young Franco, and Dope Lemon for a record that felt like a proper party with an all star guest list. A fourth album, simply titled Winston, is on the way.
