Few bands have shaped progressive rock the way Yes have. The London group built their reputation through the early 1970s on sprawling, ambitious albums like Close to the Edge and Fragile, the latter featuring "Roundabout", one of prog rock's most recognisable tracks. Their elaborate stage designs and Roger Dean's iconic artwork became as much a part of their identity as the music itself, with its layered harmonies, complex arrangements, and Rick Wakeman's flamboyant keyboards. Yes have never been shy about reinventing themselves. In the early 1980s, Trevor Rabin pushed the band toward a sleeker, pop driven sound, which paid off massively on 90125, their best selling record, home to the US number one "Owner of a Lonely Heart". The band has cycled through an enormous roster of musicians over the decades, with 20 full time members across their career, and has kept releasing studio albums well into the 21st century. Their catalogue now spans 24 studio albums and more than 30 million sold worldwide.
