About
Also known as: A. Teeuwe, Anouk Teeuwe
Few Dutch rock artists have had the kind of staying power that Anouk Teeuwe has built since she burst onto the scene with 'Nobody's Wife' in 1997. That track went top ten across Scandinavia, Flanders, Finland and Denmark, and her debut album Together Alone went triple platinum in the Netherlands. She has kept that momentum going across fifteen studio albums, blending rock and pop rock with a raw, unguarded vocal style that sets her apart from the mainstream. Her reach extends well beyond the album charts. She holds the record for the most appearances at Pinkpop, one of the Netherlands' biggest festivals, and she represented her country at Eurovision 2013 with 'Birds', finishing ninth. Along the way she has collaborated with figures like Barry Hay and George Kooymans of Golden Earring, worked with Junkie XL, and kept releasing material, including 'It's A New Day' in 2019.
