About

Also known as: Anthony Cornelius Hamilton, アンソニー・ハミルトン

Anthony Hamilton has one of those voices that makes you stop whatever you're doing and just listen. The Charlotte soul man broke through properly with his 2003 album Comin' From Where I'm From, which went platinum, earned four Grammy nominations, and gave the world the single "Charlene", peaking at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100. Before all that, he was quietly building a reputation as a collaborator, lending his chorus to Nappy Roots' "Po' Folks" in 2002 and co writing Donell Jones' 1999 hit "U Know What's Up". His run of albums through the 2000s, Ain't Nobody Worryin' and The Point of It All, both cracked the top 20 of the Billboard 200 and earned gold certifications. He has a knack for showing up on other people's landmark records too, from Nas' Life Is Good to the Django Unchained soundtrack, where his duet "Freedom" with Elayna Boynton became one of the more talked about moments from that film. With 12 Grammy nominations and one win to his name, Hamilton sits comfortably as one of neo soul's most consistent voices.
