About
Avalon Emerson built her name in the underground the hard way, throwing warehouse parties in San Francisco's SoMa district before relocating to Berlin in 2014 and earning a residency at Panorama Bar inside Berghain, where her sets have stretched past eleven hours. Her productions lean on melodic, synth heavy textures layered over punishing percussion, drawing from a sprawling lineage of pop and electronic music. Her 2016 track 'The Frontier', released on Whities, was later named one of Resident Advisor's top ten tracks of the decade. Beyond her own records on labels like Spectral Sound and AD 93, she's put her stamp on music by Slowdive, Robyn, Four Tet, and Christine and the Queens, among others. Her free "Cybernedits" series, unofficial bootleg remixes she gave away as zip files, earned her a devoted following well before the official remix credits stacked up. Her 2020 DJ Kicks mix pulled in tracks from Oceanic and Tranceonic alongside her own cover of Magnetic Fields' 'Long Forgotten Fairytale'. Her debut album '& the Charm' arrived in 2023 on Another Dove.
