Atlanta's BKTHERULA landed on Rolling Stone's list of '50 Innovators Shaping Rap's Next 50 Years' off the strength of her mixtape LVL5 P1, and Forbes put her on its '30 Under 30' list the following year. She builds a sound that Alternative Press called 'distinct and experimental,' blurring the lines between rap, singing, and whatever else catches her ear. Her viral TikTok track 'Tweakin' Together' got Warner Records' attention back in 2020, and she has been steadily leveling up since, with collabs ranging from Rico Nasty and NBA YoungBoy to Ty Dolla $ign. Her 2025 album Lucy introduced a spiritual alter ego drawn from Saint Lucy, ancient human fossil Lucy, and the Scarlett Johansson film. She also joined forces with Denzel Curry, ASAP Ferg, TiaCorine, and Key Nyata in rap supergroup The Scythe, whose debut album Strictly 4 the Scythe dropped in early 2026. Around the same time, her single 'BIG FEELING' crossed 17 million streams on Spotify, showing no signs of slowing down.
