About

Detroit's Black Milk has built one of hip hop's most distinctive catalogues by doing nearly everything himself: rapping, producing, and shaping the sonic identity of each project from the ground up. His collaborations read like a who's who of underground rap royalty, from J Dilla and RZA to Danny Brown, Black Thought, and Pharoahe Monch, yet his solo work never gets lost in that company. His discography keeps pushing in unexpected directions. The 2011 single "Brain" came out of a session with Jack White, which says a lot about how far his reach extends beyond genre boundaries. Albums like Tronic, No Poison No Paradise, and If There's a Hell Below all show a producer and rapper who refuses to settle into a formula. His most recent studio album, Everybody Good? arrived in 2023, keeping a run going that stretches back two decades.
