About
Also known as: Dagny Norvoll Sandvik
Dagny Norvoll Sandvik, the Norwegian singer who goes by just Dagny, makes the kind of infectious synth pop and electropop that sticks around long after a single listen. Her 2015 track "Backbeat" was the moment things clicked, racking up over 20 million Spotify plays and catching the ear of Zane Lowe at Apple Music. That momentum landed her deals with both Propeller Recordings in Scandinavia and Republic Records worldwide. Her songwriting chops got a big stamp of approval in 2019 when Katy Perry credited Dagny's "Love You Like That" as the direct inspiration for "Never Really Over", giving Dagny a co writing credit on the track. Her single "Somebody" then won Song of the Year at the 2020 P3 Gull. She has since released her debut album Strangers / Lovers and a second album, Elle, in 2024, building a catalogue that moves easily between disco shimmer, indie pop energy and smooth electropop grooves.
