About
Isabèl Usher spent years quietly writing hits for other people before stepping into the spotlight herself. Born in the UK but raised in the Netherlands, she co wrote and sang on Droeloe's 'Sunburn', which became a hit across Asia, and racked up credits on Dutch chart successes for artists like Sigourney K, Sevn Alias, and Zoë Tauran. It was TikTok that changed things: her viral city odes, built on a familiar melody, snowballed into a full rethink, and the resulting single 'Ik kom weer thuis' landed her in the Single Top 100 and climbed to third in the Top 40 Tipparade. She kept releasing through 2023 with singles including 'Altijd al beloofd' and 'Wijze woorden', then closed out 2024 with her debut album 'Astronaut'. The record pulls from hip hop, pop and house, features collaborations with Fresku, Kaya Imani and MocroManiac, and even includes an interview interlude with astronaut André Kuipers. A pretty wild range for a debut.
