Winning the fourth season of The Voice of Holland at just seventeen put Julia van der Toorn on the map fast. Her cover of Britney Spears' 'Oops!... I Did It Again' shot to number one in the Dutch Single Top 100 within a week of her audition airing, and her self titled debut album followed in early 2014, reaching number three on the charts. Since 2015 she has performed under the name Julia Zahra, stepping away from the pop competition world and into her own songwriting identity. That shift led to Dutch language singles, a well received acoustic take on 'Just an Illusion' that cracked the iTunes top five, and eventually her 2021 album Remedy. More recently she took part in the second season of RTL 4's Better Than Ever, reaching the final two thanks to a wildcard from coach Waylon.
