Kenny Mason blends grunge, hip hop, and shoegaze into something that really shouldn't work on paper but absolutely does. The Atlanta rapper built his name with the 2020 debut Angelic Hoodrat, a raw, experimental mix of melodic alternative rock, trap, and R&B that caught serious attention. He followed it up with Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut, a reimagined version that brought in Denzel Curry and Freddie Gibbs. His features have racked up serious numbers too. The JID collab "Dance Now" went Gold, and "Stick" with J. Cole has cleared 75 million streams on Spotify. His 2019 track G.O.A.T landed in the very first episode of Euphoria, which did him no harm at all. He has kept busy since, dropping the mixtape Ruffs with Young Nudy and Jean Dawson, the EP 9, collabs with Toro y Moi and BabyDrill, and the 2024 project Angel Eyes.
