About
KI/KI is the alias of Dutch DJ and producer Kiki Wesselo, and her story is essentially a crash course in how fast things can move when the right crowd finds you. Her breakthrough came through a six hour trance, techno and acid set at the queer dance party Spielraum in Amsterdam's Club Radion, which led to a residency there and then a very rapid rise through the ranks of the European club circuit. She has since played Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Bassiani in Tbilisi, and Glastonbury, among many others. Her sound pulls heavily from 1990s trance, and she has built her own platform for it with the label Slash, which she launched in 2022. The label has been releasing albums in a numbered series ever since. Her remix of Fatima Yamaha's What's a Girl to Do landed on the Dance 15 chart in 2025, and that same year her work earned her an Edison award in the dance category, making her the first woman to receive the prize in that category.
