La Pegatina
About
La Pegatina built their following the hard way, releasing their debut album Al carrer! in 2007 entirely on their own dime after years of relentless gigging. The Montcada i Reixac ska and Catalan rumba group mix Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Portuguese across their songs, and their open, genre blending approach attracted collaborators like Manu Chao and Ska P early on. Distributing music freely online paid off fast: that first album racked up 180,000 downloads and led to over 250 concerts across Europe. By the time their third album Xapomelön dropped in 2011, they were a genuine European live act, squeezing in a special China tour that same year. Their fifth record Revulsiu brought in an even wider cast including Dubioza Kolektiv and Hanggai, with a tour stretching across Asia, Europe and South America. Their most recent album Darle la vuelta came out in 2020 on Warner Music.
