About
Port Chalmers singer songwriter Nadia Reid built her debut album through a crowdfunding campaign, getting a crucial lift after opening for Tiny Ruins. That record, Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs, landed in 2015 and earned her a Tui nomination for best folk album as well as a spot on the Taite Music Prize shortlist. Her sound sits in the quieter, more introspective end of folk and indie folk, with The Guardian calling her "an understated, wise guide through uncertain territory". Her second album Preservation followed in 2017 and brought her real international momentum, including a memorable UK television debut on Later... with Jools Holland. The single "Richard" from that record picked up an APRA Silver Scroll nomination, with judges praising its "wonderfully direct delivery" and striking imagery. A third album, Out of My Province, came in 2020, and her fourth record Enter Now Brightness arrived in February 2025, cementing her place as one of New Zealand's most compelling voices in the singer songwriter space.
