About
Pale Waves built their reputation on a sound that blends shimmering 80s synth pop with indie rock, but they have never stayed in one lane. The Manchester four piece, fronted by Heather Baron Gracie with drummer Ciara Doran, signed to Dirty Hit in 2017 and almost immediately found themselves on a sold out stage at Madison Square Garden, supporting The 1975. Their debut album My Mind Makes Noises landed at number eight on the UK Albums Chart in 2018, the same year they won the NME Under the Radar Award. As the band evolved, their second and third albums leaned heavily into pop punk territory, with Who Am I? (2021) and Unwanted (2022) reflecting Baron Gracie and Doran's experiences as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Their fourth album, Smitten, followed in 2024, and recent activity suggests the band are still actively putting out new music, with the track Kiss Me Again surfacing that same year.
