About

Also known as: Kayla Le, Kayla Ngoc-Nhi Le

Sailorr, the stage name of Jacksonville born Vietnamese American artist Kayla Le, makes alternative R&B that pulls from a genuinely eclectic range of influences, from Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu to Frank Ocean and Chief Keef. Her breakout single "Pookie's Requiem" hit number 8 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, later getting a remix featuring Summer Walker, and Grammy flagged her as one of ten rising artists making R&B more diverse and experimental. She signed to BuVision after label head Bu Thiam stumbled across a TikTok snippet of her song "W1ll U L13?", which tells you something about how quickly things moved for her. Her debut mixtape From Florida's Finest landed in May 2025 and made Billboard's 50 Best Albums of 2025 So Far list. Sailorr's image is as deliberate as her sound: she wears black grills as a nod to nhuộm răng đen, a Vietnamese teeth blackening tradition, and performed in an ao dai during a Genius session. The double r in her name is a quiet tribute to Vietnamese refugees, including her own family, who fled by boat.
