Shady Nasty hit different from the jump: a Sydney trio blending post hardcore aggression, post punk atmosphere, and rap rock swagger into something that feels genuinely hard to pin down. Kevin Stathis (vocals, guitar), Haydn Green (bass), and Luca Watson (drums) built their sound over years of self releases, starting with debut single "Jewellery" in 2018 and a well received EP called Bad Posture in 2020, described by one critic as "a bodily experience" that nails tone and power. Their debut album TREK, released in early 2025 and produced by Kim Moyes of The Presets, marks a real step up. Shortly after, DJ and producer Fred Again.. publicly declared them his favourite band in the world on his Twitch stream while playing their single "SCREWDRIVA," a moment that brought serious attention their way. That connection led to a collaboration with Fred Again.. and DJ Kettama called "Air Maxes," which landed on Kettama's debut album Archangel.
