About

Also known as: Grace Latoya Hamilton

Spice, born Grace Latoya Hamilton in Jamaica, has spent over two decades cementing her status as the undisputed Queen of Dancehall. She first turned heads performing at the Sting festival in 2000, built a reputation on her aggressive flow and fearlessly outspoken lyrics, and eventually landed her breakthrough moment with the Vybz Kartel collaboration "Romping Shop" in 2009, a track that spent 15 weeks on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart and later made Pitchfork's list of the 50 Best Dancehall Songs of All Time. Since then she has kept pushing boundaries on her own terms. Her 2018 mixtape Captured debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, and her long awaited debut studio album 10 scored a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album in 2022. After parting ways with VP Records she launched her own label, Spice Official Entertainment, and dropped her second studio album Emancipated independently that same year. Her third studio album Mirror 25 followed in 2024.
