About
Also known as: Bouncing Souls, The
Few punk bands from New Jersey have stuck around and stayed relevant the way the Bouncing Souls have. Formed in New Brunswick in 1989, they built their reputation on fast, lighthearted songs that brought a pogo energy back to the local punk scene, and that momentum never really stopped. Their name is a riff on the Doc Martens slogan "with Bouncing Soles", which pretty much tells you where they're coming from. After early releases on their own Chunksaah Records, they signed to Epitaph in 1997 and kept releasing records deep into the next decades. Their catalog now runs to twelve studio albums, from the scrappy debut The Good, The Bad and The Argyle through to Ten Stories High in 2023. Hopeless Romantic is often singled out as a high point, pairing sharp lyrics with their melodic, rapid fire punk style. The lineup has shifted over the years, with Hot Water Music and Against Me! drummer George Rebelo joining in 2013, and the band shows no sign of slowing down. In April 2025 they dropped the single and video for a new track called "United".
