About
Also known as: West Side Cowboy
Westside Cowboy named themselves after an obscure piece of New York industrial history: the guys on horseback who rode slowly in front of trains to stop unsuspecting locals from getting hit. That mix of grit and oddball charm fits the Manchester four piece pretty well. Formed after members crossed paths at the University of Manchester, the band brought together veterans of a noise pop outfit and a surf punk group before finding their footing as Westside Cowboy with bassist Aoife Anson O'Connell completing the lineup. Their debut single landed in late 2024, and they followed it up with a run of tracks before releasing their first EP, This Better Be Something Great, through Nice Swan Records and Heist or Hit in 2025. That same year they won Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition, no small thing. A second EP came in early 2026, and they spent time on the road supporting Geese across Europe. Their debut album, It Goes On, is set for release on Island Records.
