About
Five New York City friends who bonded at LaGuardia High School, Whatmore spent years doing solo work and casual collabs before a last minute stage invite at Baby's All Right in Williamsburg pulled them into a proper group. They eased into things with a Bandcamp series called Flips, putting their own spin on tracks by Mac Miller, SZA, Phoebe Bridgers and others, while building a rep through DIY shows in Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan. Their sound gets tagged as genre bending, pulling from hip hop, pop, jazz and alternative indie, and the comparisons that come up most are Brockhampton and Odd Future. The group points to a wide range of inspirations, from A Tribe Called Quest and The Jackson 5 to Arctic Monkeys and Miles Davis. TikTok snippets helped them rack up a serious following before their self titled debut album dropped, and Ones to Watch put them on their Top 30 Artists to Watch in 2026 list.
