About
Also known as: YIN YIN
Rooted in funk, disco, and psychedelia but with a serious ear for Southeast Asian sounds, Yin Yin have carved out one of the more distinctive niches in Dutch music since forming in Maastricht in 2017. Their debut album The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers landed on Bongo Joe Records in 2019 and introduced their genre blurring approach to wider audiences, including a slot at the Lowlands festival. When the pandemic halted touring, the band used the downtime productively, writing and recording their second album The Age of Aquarius, released in 2022. For their third album Mount Matsu, released in 2024, the band took a turn toward Japanese music as a fresh source of inspiration, showing they are not content to repeat themselves. The lineup has shifted over the years, with founding member Yves Lennertz departing in 2023 and Robbert Verwijlen following in early 2025, but Yin Yin keeps moving forward with new collaborators and an ever expanding sound palette.
