Philharmonie Haarlem is a concert hall that combines restoration and new construction, housing both a historic building from 1872 and contemporary additions. Originally designed by architect A. van der Steur, the venue underwent extensive renovation beginning in 2001, directed by architect Frits van Dongen. The project aimed to serve Haarlem and North Holland as a center for musical excellence while preserving the original structure's character.
About Amsterdam Sinfonietta
Amsterdam Sinfonietta is a Dutch string orchestra that has been operating without a conductor since Candida Thompson took over as artistic leader and concertmaster in 2003, giving the ensemble a chamber music feel that was central to its original vision when it was founded in 1988 as Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam.
