Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Horsegirl
Horsegirl, the Chicago trio of Nora Cheng, Penelope Lowenstein, and Gigi Reece, make the kind of guitar music that sits comfortably between shoegaze haze and sharp indie rock clarity.
