Justice is making the GTA VI score: 34 tracks and guests like Tame Impala and SZA

The music from Grand Theft Auto VI is getting its own release. Rockstar Games and the French duo Justice have announced the album Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, which comes out on December 11 via Because Music, Ed Banger and Rockstar Games. It will be released as a 2xCD and a 3xLP.

According to NPO Radio 2, it's a sizable project: Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are delivering an album with no fewer than 34 tracks, packed with guest artists. Rockstar, the makers of one of the biggest video games ever, asked Justice themselves to do the soundtrack, so fans who have waited a long time for the game now get a fitting sound to go with it.

The guest list is impressive. Keith Richards, Cardi B and Travis Scott are among those making an appearance. Tame Impala, Kevin Parker's psychedelic project, singer songwriter SZA and the Australian rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard also contribute. That makes for a surprisingly wide mix of styles for a duo best known for their electro.

Plenty of music from the album can already be heard before its release. Flower In A Hurricane, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, is the ninth single to be released. The track was named TopSong by NPO Radio 2 this week, which gives it extra exposure in the Netherlands among an audience that doesn't necessarily follow the gaming world.

For Dutch music lovers this is an interesting release because Justice are a fixture at festivals and club stages, and the score shows how far the duo can reach beyond their own scene. The fact that the guest list runs from Tame Impala to Cardi B also makes the album worth a listen for fans of pop and hip hop.
