Noel Gallagher strongly hinted in a radio interview that Oasis will be going back on tour in the summer of 2027.

The excitement around a possible new Oasis tour has been building fast after guitarist Noel Gallagher dropped some hints about the band's plans for 2027 during a radio interview. He appeared on talkSPORT's Drive on September 2, originally to talk about Manchester City's new football season, but the conversation quickly turned to the swirling rumours about new Oasis shows. Host Andy Goldstein asked Gallagher directly whether the stories about concerts in the summer of 2027 were true.
Gallagher initially played it cool, joking that his brother and vocalist Liam has lost interest: "It's Liam, isn't it? He's not into it. He's not into Oasis anymore." When Goldstein pointed out that Liam had just announced he was quitting social media, Noel responded with a knowing smirk: "Well, then there must be something happening." He then added the most striking line of the whole conversation: "Let's put it this way: there's no football tournament on next year, so we've got to do something in the summer, right?"
There's no official confirmation yet, but the rumours are persistent and surprisingly detailed. According to reports, the band is working on a major UK and European tour for 2027, which could include a return to Knebworth. Back in August 1996, Oasis played there to 250,000 people across two nights, with a reported 2.5 million people trying to get their hands on tickets. There are also stories circulating about a run of no fewer than twelve nights at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, home ground of their beloved Manchester City. Rome is being mentioned as well. A Glastonbury 2027 headline slot seems to be off the table though: Liam recently shut that one down himself on social media with the words "It's not happening."
The appetite for a follow up to last year's triumphant comeback is easy to understand. The Live '25 tour was the first time the two brothers had shared a stage in sixteen years, after their falling out in 2009 brought the band to an abrupt end. The tour spanned 41 shows, kicking off on July 4, 2024 in Cardiff, before the band played cities including London, Manchester, Tokyo, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles, wrapping up on November 23 in São Paulo. Liam had already indicated back in December that there's nothing scheduled for 2026, which was widely read as a nod toward 2027 being the next opportunity.
Before any new tour dates are announced, fans can look forward to the documentary Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger on September 11, named after one of the band's biggest hits. The film, produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, features rehearsal and backstage footage from the reunion tour, along with the first joint interview Liam and Noel have done together in more than twenty years. A particularly special moment is that cameras were rolling when the brothers found themselves in a studio together for the first time in fifteen years, without realising it was being filmed. The documentary premieres at the Venice Film Festival and will then be shown in regular cinemas and IMAX. Later in 2026 it will arrive on Disney Plus.
For music fans in the Netherlands and Belgium, the big question is whether any potential tour will include shows on this side of the North Sea. The Live '25 tour skipped the Low Countries entirely, which left a lot of people feeling pretty let down. If the 2027 concert rumours do turn into something real, fans will be hoping the Gallaghers choose to include their neighbours this time around. In the meantime, guitarist Johnny Marr has mentioned that Noel is reportedly busy writing and recording new material, though it remains unclear whether that is destined for Oasis or for a solo project such as a follow up to the 2023 Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds album Council Skies.
