About
40UP has been running for 20 years, making it one of the longest standing dance parties aimed at the over 40 crowd in the Netherlands. The concept is straightforward but effective: a night built around the biggest hits from the 1980s through to the present day, with the original music videos playing on large screens throughout. That combination of great music and instant visual recognition keeps the dance floor packed and the atmosphere warm. Over two decades, 40UP has built a loyal following on the strength of its famously welcoming vibe. The crowd itself is a big part of what makes it work, a mix of old friends and new faces all there for the same reason. For its 20th anniversary the event is expanding into a full touring production, the Tijdmachine Tour, hitting major Dutch venues with a lineup of resident DJs, live artists and an interactive element that lets the audience influence the setlist in advance.
