About
Formed in Madrid back in 1991 by vocalist Dave Rotten, who also runs the Xtreem Music label, Avulsed have been one of Spain's most consistent death metal outfits for well over three decades. Their debut album Eminence in Putrescence set the template: heavy riffs tangled up with melodic parts, a pure death metal sound that they've twisted and stretched across every release since. Stabwound Orgasm doubled the sales of its predecessor and picked up licensing deals across South America, the US and Russia, while Gorespattered Suicide brought in Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal to handle mixing and mastering duties. Avulsed aren't the type to stay in one lane for long. Cybergore threw extreme techno into the mix, and Nullo (The Pleasure of Self Mutilation) arrived after three years of near constant touring. They've headlined European runs, played festival stages from London to Prague, and taken their show as far as Japan and Russia. Their 2025 album Phoenix Cryptobiosis shows the band is still very much at it.
